The plot is foiled with fate causing a bloody shootout in his apartment where he is wounded defending a child prostitute from the bad guys. The would be lunatic assassin becomes a media hero. Marathon Man - Directed by John Schlesinger this successful spy thriller is the story of an everyman running into a Nazi war criminal who uses dentistry to find answer to the question, "Is it Safe?" Bound for Glory - Directed by Hal Ashby this biography of folk singer Woody Guthrie and his move from dust bowl Oklahoma to Southern California where he helps organize a union for farm workers. All the President's Men - Directed by Alan Pakula this film chronicles the investigation into the Nixon Watergate cover up by Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. Actors Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman played the leading roles and also starring Jason Robards, Jack Warden, Hal Holbrook, Jane Alexander and Martin Balsam.
